The Lady Wildcats had a fantastic showing at the Regionals on Friday at historic Houseman Field. Corrina Courser took 2nd in the 100 hurdles, breaking her own school record, in a time of 16.03, to qualify to the Division 2 State Finals at Zeeland on June 2nd! In the 100, Wells and Brown finished 13th and 17th respectively. In the 200, Audrey Lepper made it through the prelims to finish 6th in the finals with a time of 28.14. Wolf ran a PR with a time of 29.05. Maddie Probst (64.8) and Sierra Greer (PR 65.57), finished 5th and 6th in the 400. Maggie Whitney finished in the medals of the 800 with a time of 2:32.73 to take 7th. Tornbjerg finished 15th. In the 1600, Mie Tornbjerg earned an 8th place medal with a PR of 5:48.72. She was followed by Cronkright running an SR of 6:01.66. In the 3200, Antel finished 11th and Cronkright ran an SR of 13:35.91. Grace Hasse finished 7th in the 100 hurdles with a PR 18.32. Corrina Courser took 3rd in the 300 hurdles, just missing a shot at the State Finals, with an SR time of 49.26. Grace Hasse finished 9th with a PR of 53.16. Maddie Probst tied for 5th in the High Jump with a leap of 4’10”. Johnnie Mellema tried to clear the opening height of 4’7″, which would have been a PR had she made it. Mellema and Magoni attempted new PRs in the Pole Vault, with an opening height of 7’6″. They finished the season with vaults of 6’6″ and 6’0″ respectively. Lepper finished 10th in the Long Jump while Santos finished 19th. Hortman and Cruz finished 14th and 25th, respectively, in the shot put. Jessica Hortman finished 8th in the Disc with a toss of 87’3″ while Cruz finished 21st. The 4 x 800 team of Jazmyn Santos, (who normally only runs 100s and 200s, filled in for an injured Naomi Oosterhouse) Antel, Tornbjerg, and Whitney finished 7th. The 4 x 200 team of Lepper, Wells, Probst, and Courser finished 4th with a PR of 1:50.15. The 4 x 100 team of Wolf, Brown, Wells, and Lepper finished 8th with a PR time 53.4. The 4 x 400 team of Greer, Wells, Probst and Courser ran to a 5th place finish with a PR time of 4:24.11. The Wildcats bring home 26 medals from their 5th place finish at Regional 17-2.
