The Wildcats traveled to Zeeland West on Friday night for their third game of the week and came away with a 2-2 tie.
Playing into a fierce wind in the first half, Amanda Brown was able to break the deadlock as she took a throw in from Kennedy Thelen, spun her defender and beat the keeper to the near post for the half’s only goal.
The Dux came out with a vengeance in the second half and converted a penalty kick to tie the game. Later, a turnover and some quick transitional play gave the Dux an opportunity from distance which unfortunately beat Junior keeper, Lilly Bolliger to give the home side the lead. The Wildcats weren’t done competing however, and late in the half, Kennedy Thelen’s perfectly weighted through ball found Amanda Brown’s well timed run and she was able to find the back of the net for the equalizing goal.
Amanda Brown’s two goals bring her season total to 18, while Kennedy Thelen’s two assists put her on 14.
Lilly Bolliger made 10 saves in the draw.
The Wildcats wrap up their regular season with a road game on Monday at East Grand Rapids and a home game against Grand Rapids Christian on Wednesday.
