A tough final home game of the season resulted in the Wildcats being on the losing end of a 4-2 game against conference opponents Grand Rapids Christian. The Wildcats fell behind early in the first half but continued to put pressure on but were unable to break the Eagle’s back line. A late second goal brought the halftime score to 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
The Wildcats came out in the second half a bit sluggish, allowing two more goals before flipping the switch and shutting things down defensively and kicking things up a notch offensively. Two late goals, one by Amanda Brown (her 19th of the season) and one by Kennedy Thelen brought them within striking distance but a couple of missed opportunities cost them their chance at a heroic comeback.
The loss brings the Wildcat’s regular season record to 6-8-2 (3-8-1 OK Gold 5th place)
The girls travel to TK to take on the Trojans for the 3rd time this season in district play on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm
