Wayland 12 – Forest Hills Eastern 18

We are feeling irritated today (coach is anyway) as we didn’t perform well to start the evening. Baker games of 142 and 152 will not win very many games. We had 9 opens out of 20 frames and I know my boys are better than that! We found ourselves down 0-10 at this point.

We needed to step it up in the first set of individuals and we didn’t with the exception of Dylan Robert’s 205. He is showing some real leadership taking over for our absent anchor bowler who is still out with the flu. We lost one point by only 5 pins and another by 9 pins. We need to improve our spare shooting if we want to get better! The team total was 766. We are now losing 1-19 and certainly we could do better.

With a quick chat I assured the boys that they wouldn’t have another poor game. We had some self pride and integrity to show. I knew they would come back. Come back they did and then some. We took every one of the last 11 points. Jordan Peters had high game of the evening (on the boys side) with a 209, following our lead-off was Christian Courser with a fine 193, then Joe Laidler with 152, Bryan Franck with 286 and Dylan Roberts wit a 189. Our team total this game was 163 pins higher than the first for a 929 game.

If only we could get those Baker games back….ah but that is the past and we will leave it there. We can’t change it so I won’t dwell on it (for too long anyway). Good comeback guys – next time we will start that way!
