Wayland Boys golf team placed 2nd in the first OK Gold jamboree held at Quail Ridge golf club. Forest Hills Eastern was 1st with a 160 and the Wildcats were two strokes behind with a 162. Wayland was lead by jamboree medalist Rory Myers who carded a even par 36. “Rory played a real nice steady round today with two bogies and two birdies,” said coach Drew. “He made a nice 10 footer for birdie on his last hole.” Wayland finished out their scoring with a 39 from Carson Sevigny, 41 from freshmen Tyler Omness, and a 46 from Mitch Salisbury. “Tyler was paired with two of the top golfers in our conference for his very first jamboree, and he played an exceptional round. This should give him a lot of confidence moving forward,” coach Drew. The wildcats play in the TK Invite at Yankee Springs on Friday, April 20. Keep up the good work boys!
