Well here is our update from Saturday’s Cedar Springs Tournament at Westgate Lanes. We had a BLAST! What a turnaround from Friday. We knew we had to do better. From a dismal 124 average the previous day of individual scores, we found we had improved 41 pins per game as we averaged 165 in the individual sets. We still have to improve and we will, but what a fabulous boost to our spirit! We were even more successful when we entered our Baker round where we averaged 185 with a high Baker game of 231!

What worked was setting some simple goals for the day and we met some and missed some, but I think that was definitely a good strategy to focus on.

Jordan Peters tore it up in Baker games with 4 strikes and 3 spares in his 10 frames.

Alex Marble had games of 164 and 172 and had strikes in 7 out of 12 Baker frames.

Bryan Franck had a 163 and 162 with 4 strikes and 6 spares in the 12 Baker frames he bowled.

Dylan Roberts “O.D.” had games of 168 and 193. In his Baker frames he had 5 strikes and 2 spares.

Our anchor Dillon Smith, “Big D”, came through with games of 200 and 201 – narrowly missing the top ten for the tourney. His baker frames included 7 strikes (a turkey to finish game 3) and 4 spares.

Again, we are proud of these boys who are working harder and harder and it sure is a lot more fun to bowl well! I see even better times ahead ~ keep it up boys!

Oh and by the way, we finished 11th out of 18 teams – missed 10 place by just 3 pins – much better than the previous day!
