Wayland Wildcats

Last night the J.V. football team was defeated by a tough Zeeland West squad.  Players of the game were Ian Carpenter, Austin Haveman and Nick Tarman.

The J.V. volleyball team worked really hard yet lost a close game last night to TK.  Players of the game were Hunter Fenton, Amanda Moore and Abby Merice.

The Girls Varsity Golf Team finished 4th at the OK Gold Jamboree last night at Orchard Hills Golf Course. Leading scorers for Wayland were Ali Martus with a 40 and Alexis Kirschbaum with a 50.

The Varsity Girls Golf Team finished 4th at the OK Gold Conference Jamboree yesterday at Quail Ridge Golf Course. Leading scorers for Wayland were Ali Martus with a 42 and Mandy Kinney with a 52.

The Varsity Girls Golf Team defeated Byron Center last night 203-214. Leading scorers for Wayland were Ali Martus with 43, Mandy Kinney with 49, and Emily Arendsen with 50.

The varsity volleyball team opened their OK Gold conference season with a win over Ottawa Hills.  Players of the game were Taryn Coughlin, Lyndie VanMalsen and Morgan Winger.

Last night the J.V. football team put together a 4th quarter comeback to defeat a very fast Forest Hills Eastern team.  The team showed a lot of heart and determination.  Great job team!  Players of the game were Kyle Jansen, Jake Omness and Dugan Dortch.

Attention baseball players – there will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, September 9th in the Fine Arts Center until 3:00 p.m.

Congratulations to the girls cross country team for a fine race yesterday.  Finishing first for the Lady Cats was Mackenzy Kasper.  Riley Shepherd and Anna Kidwell also had course record times.
