Meet Recap

Senior Night sees the Wildcats close out match play with a win over Wyoming Lee. On an emotional night for seniors Lizzy Cobb and Aubree Hodges, the Lady Wildcats jumped out to and early 10-0 lead taking both Baker games 164-101 and 177-95. In the 1st team game the ladies won 755-681 and took 8 out of 9 points to secure the win. Freshman Devin Bartell saw her first varsity match action and won her point 128-122. In game 2, the starters bowled the last match game together with the seniors and took 9 of the last 11 points with a score of 849-669. Lizzy Cobb lead the way with a 183-222=405 and Aubree Hodges had a 154-151=305. Other top scores include sophomore Marissa Bruinsslot 182, sophomore Sydney Urben 171 and sophomore Jessica Henderson 146. It was a great night and it was fun to watch the seniors in their last head-to-head match. They both bowled solid tonight and the team really responds to them. They have both grown on and off the lanes so much since I started here three years ago. It’s been a lot of fun to watch them grow into the terrific young women they are now. Although head-to-head matches are done we have plenty to accomplish with this team yet. A week from Friday is our team Regional in Kalamazoo and Saturday is individual Regional. It’s time to get geared up for that! Great job tonight ladies! ~Coach Holbrook

Game Recap

The JV Lady ‘Cats welcomed Mattawan to their gym tonight. The basketball game started slow as both teams struggled to score and after the 1st quarter the game was tied at six. It didn’t take long into the second quarter when the Wildcats landed a slew of baskets. In addition, the Wildcats turned up the pressure to hold Mattawan to 3, 4, and 4 points in the next 3 quarters.

Fun Fact: Three of the four quarters ended with a Wildcat swish at the buzzer.

The Wildcats travel to Hastings on Thursday.
