Meet Recap

It was a great day for the Wildcats. After finishing 4th in the first OK Gold Jamboree, the cats took first place in the second Jamboree at Quail Ridge Wednesday. Wayland played very well in the windy conditions. “We have never played the back there, so we really didn’t have a great idea of we were in for. However, the guys stayed steady and played excellent golf on a tough course. I was very proud of their performance today”, said coach Drew. The win puts Wayland back in a tie for first in the Gold. The Cats were lead by Rory Myers (40), Jake Omness (42), Robert Mucci (44), and Mitch Salisbury (45). Wayland will have a busy weekend playing in two 18 hole tournaments. Friday they will be at the TK Invitational and Saturday at Bedford Valley near Battle Creek.

Game Recap

The JV Wildcats came away with an impressive tie on the road Wednesday evening against a stout Catholic Central squad. Sydney Hielkema opened the scoring a couple of minutes in to the game on a lovely shot. The team went on to protect that lead with a determined defensive effort that was highlighted by wonderful individual plays by Amber Beggs and Anna Kirchoff, and outstanding saves by Hannah Damveld. Unfortunately, the home team scored the equalizer late in the game.
