Meet Recap

The Wayland Wildcats travelled south to Comstock and ran away with the Championship Trophy…narrowly beating Benton Harbor by 4 points! They also placed ahead of Cassopolis, St. Joseph Lake Michigan Catholic, GR Northpointe Christian, Comstock, West Michigan Lutheran, and Fennville. Corinna Courser finished 4th in the 200, 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, 2nd in the 300 Hurdles, and anchored the 4 x 400 to a 2nd place finish, running a 63 second split. Asiia Sok took a silver medal in the Pole Vault! Brittany Ludwig and Julia Belke took 3rd and 6th in the High Jump, respectively. Hannah Rybiski was Wayland’s lone medalist in the Shot Put with a throw of 27’1″, taking 6th. McKenna Dutkiewicz and Elizabeth Barnes finished 3rd and 4th with throws of 84’10” and 80’10.5″ in the Discus. The 4 x 800 team of Antel, Hasse, Cronkright, and Whitney ran to a PR of 10:28.46 to take the gold. The 4 x 400 team of Whitney, Hasse, Rybiski, and Courser took the silver with a time of 4:29.16. The 4 x 100 team of Brown, Ludwig, Hortman, and Wells ran to another PR of 56.44 to take home a 6th place medal. Klein, Ludwig, Hortman, and Wells took 4th in the 4 x 200 with a PR of 1:58.5. Rylee Cronkright took home the silver in the 1600 and Zoe Antel took 4th. Cronkright doubled-up on the distance and took the Gold in the 3200, running a PR of 12:32.97. Grace Hasse earned a 4th place medal in the 300 hurdles in a time of 55.94. Maggie Whitney took the gold in the 800 this evening, while Antel took the bronze. The Wildcats are looking forward to the Regionals this weekend.
