Meet Recap

The Wildcats hosted Wyoming and South Christian tonight in a double-dual. Wayland took honors over Wyoming (103-24) and dropped one to South Christian (55-81). Jessica Hortman threw 28’8″ in the shot, followed by Hannah Rybiski (26’09.5″) and McKenna Dutkiewicz. Mckenna took first in the Discus (82’02.5″) followed by Elizabeth Barnes (80’10”) and Hannah Rybiski (75’0″). In the Long Jump, Brittany jumped 12’11, Julia Belke (12’10.5″) and Grace Chandler (10’6.5″). Brittany Ludwig took first in the High Jump with a leap of 4’6″. Julia Belke took 3rd jumping 4’4″. The 4 x 8 team of Cronkright, Hasse, Antel, and Whitney took first with a time of 11:03.61. The Wildcats also took 1st in the 4 x 4 with a time of 4:40.49 (Whitney, Hasse, Rybiski, and Courser). The JV 4 x 400 team of Grace Hasse, Ella Martin, Sam Sager, and Rylee Cronkright ran a time of 5:26.41. The 4 x 2 team of Ludwig, Berends, Hortman, Wells beat Wyoming with a time of 2:02.08. The 4 x 100 team of Ludwig, Berends, Brown, and Wells ran a PR of 58.26. The JV 4 x 100 team of Julia Belke, Brittany Smith, Brandy Smith, and Asiia Sok ran to a time of 62.23. In the 300 hurdles, Corrina Courser ran a PR of 49.84, Grace Hasse ran PR of 56.07, and Savannah Van Houten also ran a PR of 60.67. In the 100 hurdles, Courser ran17.99, Hasse ran 19.67, and Hannah Damveld ran her first hurdles of the year in a time of 20.05. In the 3200, Rylee Cronkright took 1st in a time of 13:01.38, followed by Zoe Antel (13:27.97). Cronkright took first against Wyoming in the 1600 with a run of 5:54.21, followed by Antel (6:03.41), and Grace Chandler (7:41.35). Maggie Whitney won the 800 in a time of 2:34.49. She was followed by Holly Jandernoa, and Metzli Cruz. Whitney doubled-up and won the 400 in a PR of 62.23. She was followed by Abigail Hasse (PR 69.23). Courser took 1st in the 200 against Wyoming with a time of 29.62, while Khylea Wells took 2nd with a time of 30.85. In the 100 meter dash, Wells also took 2nd running a PR of 14.27. The Wayland Wildcats will participate in the OK GOLD Conference Championship this Saturday at Houseman Field.
