Saturday was a wonderful day for Track and Field at the Hopkins Invitational. The Wildcats posted some great marks and medaled in several events: Corrina Courser placed 4th in the 200, 2nd in the 100Hurdles, 1st in the 300Hurdles, and anchored the 4th place 4 x 400 with: Whitney, A. Hasse, and Rybiski in a time of 4:32.92. Maggie Whitney took 1st in the 400 (PR 62.4), 1st in the 800, anchored the 3rd place 4 x 800 with A. Hasse, G. Hasse, & Cronkright, and was part of the 4th place 4 x 400. Rylee Cronkright placed 6th in the 1600 (5:50.39) and 4th in the 3200 (12:49.71) and medaled in the 4 x 800 (10:43.00). The 4 x 200 team of Wells, Sok, Berends, and Ludwig placed 6th in the 4 x 200 with a time of 2:01.85. Mckenna Dutkiewicz took home a 5th place medal in the shot put (27′.75″). Jessica Hortman continues to have a great season, with a 3rd place medal in the shot put (28′ 2.25″), a PR in the 100 (14.36), and another PR in the 200 (30.24). Captain, Senior, Elizabeth Barnes, rose to the occasion and threw 82’1.5″ in the discus, finishing 3rd for a medal. The Wilcats continue to improve with Personal Record performances from: Wells (100, 14.38), Brown (100, 14.49), Rybiski (400, 69.99), Antel (1600SR 5:57.68), Chandler (1600, 7:26.64), G. Hasse (100H, 19.32), and VanHouten (100H, 21.77). Wayland plays host to South Christian and Wyoming this coming Wednesday. Field Events at 4:00 and running events at 4:30.
