Game Recap

Wayland and Hopkins faced each other after the first day of school. Both teams looked tired from the start as they tried to get things going. The game stayed close in the first half ending at 0-0. Wayland came out strong in the second half and began to put on the pressure. Robin Juppe, an exchange student, started the scoring in his first game with the Wildcats. He finished a ball inside the box to take a 1-0 lead. Soon after, senior Austin Van Hees scored after an assist from Jake Wagner. Wayland continued to apply the pressure and walked away with a 2-0 win. Senior goalie Kyle Thelen recorded his second shutout of the season with 5 saves.
