Meet Recap

The Wayland girls played host to GR Christian tonight, surviving a deluge of rain, just before the start of the meet! Our Wildcats put up a good fight against the very deep and well-respected Eagles. Jessica Hortman had a fantastic night, helping the 4 x 100 to victory, taking 2nd in the shot with a put of 27′ 0″, while taking 6th in the 100 hurdles and leading our Wildcats in the long jump! Maggie Whitney tripled up to take first place finishes in the 400, the 800, and led the winning 4 x 400 relay along with Abbie Hasse, Vanessa Brown, and Corrina Courser. Khylea Wells took 6th in the 100 and 5th in the 200, and anchored our winning 4 x 100, along with Brittany Ludwig, Hortman, and Sam Berends. Brittany Ludwig finished 4th in the HJ clearing 4’6″ while Holly Jandernoa cleared 4’2″. Corrina Courser continues her streak of first place finishes in the 100 and 300 hurdles with time of 16.78 and 50.4, respectively. Rylee Cronkright and Zoe Antel doubled-up and scored in both the 1600 and the 3200, with Rylee taking 1st and 2nd while Zoe took two 3rds. The Wildcats travel to Hastings on Friday.
