Game Recap

Wayland Union hosted a tough Otsego team on Wednesday night. Wayland pressured Otsego heavily in the first half creating 11 shots on goal. The Otsego goalie had a strong showing as he protected his net keeping the score at 0-0 by halftime. Wayland continued their pressure in the second half and eventually took the lead after a pass from Austin VanHees found Austin Wroblewski who then put the ball past the Otsego goalie to take a 1-0 lead. Otsego fought hard to even the score, but goalie Kyle Thelen made 10 saves to record his first shutout of the year. Juniors Jarrod Haase and Alec Zoerman lead a solid defensive game which helped shut down the offensive attack from Otsego. The team is now 1-1 on the season and will start league play on Monday against Thornapple Kellogg.
