Game Recap

The Wayland Union Wildcats Varsity Baseball team took the first game of their OK-Gold Conference double-header against Forest Hills Eastern by a score of 3-2. Keaton McNees picked up the win on the mound, pitching 5 innings and allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits, striking out 4 and walking 6. Chris Kincaid picked up the save, pitching 2 innings allowing 0 runs on 0 hits, striking out 2 and walking 1.

Leading the offensive attack for the Wildcats were Carter Morse, Mitch Dykstra, Jamie Snyder, Ben Barnes and Travis Cutler. Morse was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s and a stolen base, Dykstra was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Snyder was 1-for-2. Barnes scored 2 runs for the victors and Cutler delivered the game winning RBI in the top of the 6th inning.
