Meet Recap

The Wayland ladies stayed within reach of qualifying for state all season, including the regional race. Leading the girls was senior captain Emily Gray who just missed qualifying with a 16th place time of 20:45, 6th fastest senior. Running 2nd for the Wildcats was freshman Rylee Cronkright, with a personal best time of 20:53, placing 20th. She was the 5th fastest freshman. Next was sophomore Zoe Antel, placing 25th with a time of 21:19, 6th fastest sophomore. Kaitlyn Paul ran a 22:21, finishing 46th which was the 10th fastest junior time. Senior captain Emily Isenhoff was just behind her with a time of 22:22 which was the 13th fastest time. Freshman Gracie Hasse placed 69th with a time of 23:25, 18th fastest freshman. Finishing up 7th for the girls was sophomore Sydney Hielkema who ran a 23:42 which was the 21st fastest sophomore time for the day.

The varsity girls placed 6th out of 13 schools at their regionals.

The junior varsity girls ran very well in their race. Pacing the team was freshman Corrina Courser who ran a personal best time of 23:29. Junior Abbie Hasse wasn’t far behind witha 23:47. Running a personal course record time was Kennedy Thelen with a 24:55. Grace Chandler ran a personal best time of 27:25 and Kaitlyn Good finished with a 30:28.
