Meet Recap

The Wayland Wildcats had a great day competing against some of the best teams in the state, in Division II , at the Portage Invitational. Captain Jonathan Zuiderveen led the Wildcats finishing 89th in 17:22. He was followed by freshman, Mitchell Hooker (162nd) in 17:58, Captain Ethan Killips (289th) in 19:15, Jarod Geerligs in 20:21, and Garret Kloska, with a new personal record time of 20:22. Ian Russell had a fantastic day and posted the biggest improvement on the varsity finishing with a time of 20:29, a 28 second PR! Jacob Jelsema ran to a time of 20:33, just missing his PR by a few seconds. The biggest mover and shaker for the Wildcats today was Gabe Attruia. His PR, coming into the JV race today, was 21:05. He finished 114th out of 400 runners, finishing with a time of 19:33! That performance earned him the number 4 spot on the Varsity Team! Steven Mosher finished his run in 20:48, with a blistering kick passing several runners in the chute. The boys have a solid week of training, with no racing, next week. These guys keep training hard, and running free. Look for times to continue to drop in the next few weeks.
