Game Recap

On a cool, damp, Fall evening, the Wildcats traveled to South Christian to take on the conference leaders on Thursday night. Unfortunately, despite a hard fought game, the visitors fell 3-1 for their 10th loss of the season.

The Sailors struck first within the first 5 minutes before the Wildcats were able to compose themselves and get settled in defensively. The rest of the half saw the visitors trying to hold off a high pressured attack from the home team, and allowing 1 goal shortly before the half to double their lead.

The second half was a completely different story though as the Wildcats turned up the pressure and broke up the Sailor possession, forcing them to play longer and allowing the Wildcats to get more offensive chances on goal. Despite conceding a goal early in the half, the visitors fought hard and forced the South Christian keeper into making some tough saves before eventually earning a penalty kick late in the match which Tristen Ortiz put away calmly to bring them within 2 goals. That would be it for the night and the final score would end up 3-1.

Goalie Jake Larsen made 7 saves in the loss.

The Wildcats record sits at 3-10-1 (2-7 OK Gold)
